I'm so sorry for the lack of updates these couple of weeks. I've been really busy because we are preparing for our 3rd baby! Not only that, but I'm also having it in my home country since I have lots of family there (Indonesia). Since I'm leaving in about 2 weeks, I've created a sale on Etsy (no coupon code needed) with a 30% discount on EVERYTHING so you can stock up enough paper straws to last you the next 6 months. Yes, Stripe Party will be away for 6 months, and the time will be used to create exciting and new changes. Our new logo is almost completed and we're having changes made to the site as well. You will not be able to shop while we're gone, but we'll keep you updated with our blog and mailing list! Don't forget to add us to your Instagram, facebook and twitter account too.
Talk to you soon! And head over to our
There hasn't been a lot of time for me to sit down to blog due to the amount of time I have to spend on our new products and fulfilling orders (and fending my kids from messing with the straws). Today, however, is a special day. It's snow day, so there's nothing much I can do besides completing administrative tasks, one of which is updating all our products with sub-categories. I promise we have a lot of good changes to come, although it might take some time since this is a one-woman job. We're also working to put comments to this blog so I can hear from you guys! Alright, so back to work now!
Have you noticed any changes on Stripe Party in the last 2 weeks? During those time, I had vigorously edit over 150 pictures of our paper straws so that they fit nicely into the frame (shown above).
I'm a self-proclaimed neat freak, so after our site was completed and the thumbnail size set, I had this itching temptation to do something about our web disorganization situation. Time is a luxury for me, so I wasn't able to get around to doing it until recently. Horay! I'm pleased.
It was colder in our house than outside so while my camera was condensing, I tried taking this quick picture.
It was love at first sight when I discovered them through a trade website. Christine's illustrations are colorful, vibrant and makes me happy. That's why I go into the party supply business in the first place. I want to be able to see and touch beautiful things.

My youngest memories of my childhood was when I was about 5 or 6 years old. I remembered my first birthday party held in school with a large cake, lots of food, favors and games. The school was taken down a couple of years ago, but I still remember the 5 cent fishcake with chili sauce. It was the best I've ever had.
I have 3 other siblings; an older sister and two younger brothers. Even though we weren't rich, my mother would throw each of us a birthday party every single year. It would be filled with lots of homemade food, party hats and little kitschy toys. I still remembered the same colorful metallic "Happy Birthday" banner being re-used every single year.
Now, fast-forward 20 years, I've become a mother myself with a daughter turning three and a boy who just turned one. I've thrown birthday parties for both, and that's when I was inspired to start Stripe Party. I love what's available in the party supply market, and admire how much more creative and beautiful things have become. I'm not here to get rich, but to have these beautiful things surrounding me and available for me when I need them. I also consider this as a creative outlet for me.
